Coaching and therapy | Aya Jøgensen

Why coaching or therapy ?

There are many different reasons for seeking coaching and therapy.

It can be that you are struggling with some emotions and thoughts that feel challenging for you.

You might need help to get through challenging life circumstances in an empowered way or you find that you want tools to get clarity around and take action on your dreams.

You feel like something is holding you back.  You don’t believe in yourself or negatively look at yourself.

There is no shame in seeking support with your challenges.  I will always meet you where you are. It’s crucial for me that you feel safe to express and work through what is important to you.

How a session works

Coaching and therapy are based on you and your values.
For a session, we will explore and create clarity about what you want. Based on this, I will support you in getting where you want to be.

I always believe that you have the answers but it is my job to ask the right questions so you can feel what is true for you.

I also use the NLP techniques as an important tool in the process. The NLP techniques will often serve as a tool that can help get in touch with the resources needed to handle your challenges in a new way.

NLP stands for Neurolinguistic Programming. It is a psychological approach that emerged in the United States in the ’70s. Richard Bandler and John Grinder, the founders of NLP, decided to look into how successful therapists worked. In particular, they observed Fritz Perls (Gestalt Therapy ), Milton Erickson ( Hypnotherapy ), and Virginia Satir (Family Therapy).
Bandler and Grinder looked into exactly what elements make the difference for therapy to be successful. That way, NLP has elements in common with other therapeutic approaches and is often able to achieve change in an incredibly effective way.

I continue to be amazed at how NLP techniques can bring us in touch with the resources needed to solve our problems. A situation that seems stuck may suddenly turn out to contain a range of possibilities we didn’t see before.

At the same time, however, it is also important to respect that some processes take time and that there is not always a right or wrong solution. Sometimes the solution to a problem can even be found in an acceptance of our challenge. The most important thing is to give ourselves the best conditions in our journey towards what’s important to us.
